Signal Lounge (2022, New York) becomes a waiting room for competing thoughts: profiles overlap, eyes multiply, and sharp planes interlock like a shifting map. A limited palette of rust-brown and blue-gray keeps the composition graphic and restrained, while the grainy, rubbed marks build a soft visual static, memories, moods, and daily noise settling in together.
“Lounge” is not comfort here so much as a mental space you pass through: a place where calm and anxiety sit side by side, where attention drifts, returns, and fractures again. Rather than resolving into a single likeness, the figure holds contradiction on purpose, present and elsewhere at once, capturing an inner life that is minimal in means, but crowded in feeling.
