The Second Face

The Second Face is a collection of ink portraits built around the idea of the mask, not as disguise, but as a second register of self. Faces split, misalign, and repeat: one eye opens wide while the other reduces to a mark; a smile turns into a controlled curve; features feel edited, reinforced, or held in place. With bold contours and minimal detail, each drawing treats expression as something constructed, an outward face that protects an inward one.

Across the works, the tension is consistent: openness versus restraint, play versus defense, clarity versus distortion. The figures don’t resolve into a single identity; they stay doubled, as if the “real” face and the “presented” face must coexist in the same frame.
