Pressure to Align (2022, New York) stages a portrait as a crowded negotiation. Profiles and eyes press against one another inside a tight frame, held in place by hard edges, striped bands, and dense fields of texture. The image reads like a mental floor plan, each fragment trying to take up space, each angle insisting on its own version of the face. Rather than resolving into one likeness, the drawing keeps the tension visible: identity formed through compression, overlap, and constant adjustment.
Printed on museum-quality matte paper sourced from Japan.
