2021, New York· Original: black ink on paper.
Crosstalk is a portrait where two profiles lock into one another like interleaving floor plans, one face rising, the other slipping underneath—so the figure reads as both head and diagram. Spiral eyes feel like dials stuck between focus and overload, while striped “ribs,” scalloped edges, and hard black beams act like brackets trying to hold the self in place.
A thin line threads through the composition like a live wire, connecting mouths, seams, and voids as the expression shifts mid-sentence. The result is built from interference: clean and minimal on the surface, but crowded with overlapping roles and competing signals inside.
Printed on museum-quality matte paper sourced from Japan.
